Lyrics

Verse 1:

Oh sometimes I wish

I was a fish

I would go swim

In the ocean

I’d go down below

With fish fun and colorful

Into a world so wondrous

Far from the dry shore up above

Oh I would play

With graceful manta rays

Then tour the sea floor

With a seahorse

I would be smiling

While surfing waves with dolphins

Maybe they’d teach me

How to do a flip with them

Chorus 1:

Yet I'm up here on the land

With no fins, but I've got two hands

Which are really great, yet there are some days

Where I wish I was a fish

So I go about and I walk around

With my two legs here on the ground

Yet sometimes I wonder, what life’s like under

The sea, swimming so free

Verse 2:

So sometimes I wish

I was a fish

I could go kiss

A puffy blowfish

I'd show I’m no wimp

To some little bitty shrimp

For I just might

Dare to meet a great white

I'd stop by the squid spa

To get a nice eight armed massage

Or find if I'm ticklish

While in the midst of jellyfish

I'd swim as deep as I could go

Until I would start to get scared

Of strange creatures who slowly lurk

About in the dark down there

I'd ask a swordfish

If he could please

Help me and a sardine

Cut through some seaweed

We’d lounge in a lagoon where

Happy clams are laying

Then at low tide we’d crawl

With crabby crustaceans

Chorus 2:

Yet I'm up here on the land

With no fins, but I've got two hands

Which are really great, yet there are some days

Where I wish I was a fish, yeah

So I go about and I walk around

With my two legs here on that ground

Yet sometimes I wonder, what life’s like under

The sea, swimming so free

Bridge:

Oh we’ll go down, we’ll go down

We’ll go down into the sea

We’ll move about so gracefully

And feel so free

We’ll cross mysterious trenches and see glistening bays

Yeah we’ll meet new friends all along our way

We’ll swim far across the sea

Will you come with me?

Verse 3:

So sometimes I wish

I was a fishy-fish

I would dive beneath

To explore the coral reef

I'd float under the moon

With my sea turtle friends

Or maybe journey upstream

Among a school of salmon

I'd catch the current

And cruise so blissfully

Then try to race a marlin

Through the buoys

We’d ride orcas through crashing waves

Peek inside eerie eel caves

Then climb onto a sand bar

To dance with sea stars

We’d visit a calm lake

Where fishing lines are cast

Then swim fast toward the surface

To leap and make a splash

We’d listen to the whales sing

So beautifully

As we discover shipwrecks

That were lost at sea

I'd jump off docks with walruses

Find barnacles in slow rivers

I'd fall in love and get mushy

With lovely Miss Octopussy

I'd ask a lobster to pinch me

To see if I were in a dream

With flounders, conchs, and manatees

And all these wild times at sea, yeah

Chorus 3:

Yet I'm up here on the land

With no fins, but I've got two hands

Which are really great, yet there are some days

Where I wish I was a fish

So I go about and I walk around

With my two legs here on the ground

Yet sometimes I wonder, what life’s like under

The sea, swimming so free
